September 1, 2022
The 164th Airlift Wing from the Tennessee Air National Guard visited Yellowstone Airport on August 1st - August 3rd. The crew practiced visual approaches and high-altitude landings. Students from the West Yellowstone summer recreation program had the opportunity to come out for a special tour inside of the C-17 Globemaster III. Students were all able to ask the crew questions, sit in the cargo bay, and get an in-depth tour of the cockpit. The highlight of the day was watching this 164,900-pound airplane takeoff into the sky.
